Our client wishes to run all software on Linux machines like those provided by the College of Computer Science. As you may know from when you signed up for CCIS accounts, you may log into the Linux machine called

    login-students

which runs the standard operating system. (The machine has additional names, due to various changes in the College structure---such as login.khoury.northeastern.edu---but that is the name by which it has been know for two decades.)

This machine might get overloaded during the semester so you should avoid it. As of this semester, the Systems group no longer provides physical Linux machines, only Virtual Machines. For a list of Virtual Machines, see below. You can log into those via SSH or virtual desktops (probably especially useful for the Windows users among you).
